I have enjoy www.ratbike.org a lot. Great inspiration to keep my 'good' old bike running.
I have followed the discussion forum a little bit and have noticed the messages about icy roads. We have a lot of that here in Norway during winter. Here's a picture of my bike taken just before Christmas 2002.
It's a 1976 GL1000 with EML Sidecar, used all year. I have already been to one MC meeting this year (this was written in January! S.), overnight in tents in the snow up in the woods, and it will be 2 or 3 more. Temperature about 0 degrees last time, but sometimes as low as -25 degrees. OK with a good sleping bag and a big car battery for start!
Sorry, but it is still some crome on the bike, but the salted winter roads will soon fix this.
