Z400 + TZR125

  Important Announcement

THIS IS NOT!!!! THE ORIGINAL RATBIKE.ORG, BUT AN ARCHIVE FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT.

Kawasaki Z400 with 550 engine
Here's a few pics of my former and current ratbikes.
The Kawasaki was a Z400J until it blew a hole in number 2 piston, so I fitted a GPz550 lump with pod filters and a Harris race exhaust. The alternator couldn't cope with twin halogen headlamps, so I blanked one off, fitted a spot for high beam and used an indicator bulb under a spraycan cap for the sidelight. The original calipers seized so I made brackets for later Kawa calipers. The rack in the photos is the second much stronger version, with indicators mounted inboard so they can't get smashed. The chain oiler used old engine oil and was made of pneumatic fittings scrounged from the skip at work. I had it painted in camo for a while, but got fed up with codgers telling me, ''I used to ride one just like that in the army.'' - must have been the imperial Japanese army then... Sold it when the base gasket sprang a leak for the second time and it went to constant loss lubrication.
Pink Yamaha TZR 125 Rat Bike
My current rat is the TZR125. Unfortunately cameras cannot capture the full horror of its fluoro pink paintjob. The other side is black. Only big mods are the rack, which takes a 50 litre Givi box and the raised handlebars, which meant I had to hack the fairing back some more. It's full power and goes like stink unless it's seized.
Next rat will be my SV650. Had an argument with the tarmac recently, which means the fairing will get binned and the rattle cans will come out to play, but first I have to get my leg and arms working properly again.
    Go careful now!
