Suzuki Madura Springer
Ever since I saw Mad Max I wanted to build a post- apocalyptic type bike... just finished this. All modifications home-made and out of scrap.
I started with an 85 Suzuki Madura 1200 V-4. Replaced the mufflers with straight pipes, took off the plastic. Bobbed rear fender, switched to LED turn signals, home-made sissy bar. I kept the stock tank, but moved it forward two inches and raised the front of it six inches.
Suzuki Madura Custom
I added six inches to the front of the frame and raked it. I initially tried to put the rake in the trees, but it was very unstable. The front end is a girder-style , all home-made. Suspension is provided by rear shocks from a 73 Honda 360 attached to the girder and to the bottom tree. It works beautifully!
Headlights are old track lighting cans salvaged from the garbage with high intensity driving lights siliconed inside. Handlebars also made from scrap steel. It is a bit of a workout in a parking lot, but like a cruise missile on the highway. I have a total of $1300 US into this bike and LOVE IT!
